The Heroic Enthusiasts
101: The Heroic Enthusiasts
With feet firmly planted in the ethos of ‘80s new romanticism and an eye and sound focused toward the future, The Heroic Enthusiasts deliver powerful, intoxicating hooks spiked with touches of sophistication and danger. Where every decade holds claim to specific musical ideas, many post punk acts have borrowed from and simultaneously smashed these chronological restraints. It's this maverick ideal that The Heroic Enthusiasts adhere to as well, full of a loosely harnessed energy and an abstract antagonism.

Lonely Benson
Benson's Best
A multi-instrumentalist who kicked off his career with a track-a-month series that concluded in the spring, Lonely Benson has returned from a summer-long break with an impassioned indie-pop take on a Hall & Oates’ classic cut, “I Can’t Go For That” (No Can Do)”. Sunny synthesizers, suave vocals, and a groovy bass line give the track serious personality, not to mention a bossa nova influenced bridge, airy flute-work and all.
The Australian born, Nashville based artist’s sampler is a teaser for his long-awaited debut record (produced by Will Pugh) that’s slated to drop in January of 2018. On the sound he’s looking to establish, Benson keeps it simple: “The intention is to create songs that set a relaxing atmosphere, calming the mind. I call it lounge-rock. You can call it whatever you'd like.”
